Setting baby to sleep on a sheepskin rug or other animal skin during the can lessen asthma risks.  German doctors say that microbes found in animal skin could help protect against asthma and allergies by strengthening the immune system.  Children who slept on an animal skin during the first three months of life were 79 percent less likely to have asthma by the time they were six and 41 percent less likely to have asthma by the time they were 10.
